Les Brown

Les Brown retired after 28 years with Alabama Power Company, a Birmingham Alabama based electric utility. He also retired commissioned Armor (tank) Officer with Alabama Army National Guard after 12 years of service.
Having worked as a police dispatcher with the Montevallo Alabama Police and the Alabaster Alabama Police, Les is presently a Police Communications Officer with the Alabama Emergency Management Agency.
Les has ten years experience in training and working field K9’s as well as Labrador Retrievers trained for hunting. He has spent the last four years working a Human Remains Detection and Tracking K9. Les has a second Lab certified as an Human Remains Detection K9, one tracking bloodhound, and is training his third lab in area search techniques.
Les is one of the cofounders of a K9 Training Academy specializing in personal/corporate protection and narcotics detection K9’s. To date all of the narcotics K9’s trained by this academy have been donated to police departments in Alabama which do not have the funds to purchase them.
Presently, Les is a Captain, Director and K9 Handler of a K9 Search, Rescue and Recovery Team with Southeast Shelby County Rescue, an EMS company responsible for EMS service for seven volunteer fire departments in the southeast part of Shelby County Alabama.
