PROCEDURES

1.        Certifying teams must coordinate with Senior Evaluator to ensure that two (2) helpers are available for the live find search. 

2.        Search area must consist of approximately five (5) acres.

3.    A thirty (30) minute time limit will be applied. 

4.        Helpers will be placed at the evaluator’s discretion and concealed from view.

 

REQUIREMENTS

1.       Handler must deploy K-9 in a safe and effective manner.

2.    Handler must use terrain and wind currents to their search advantage.

3.       K-9 must locate helper.

4.       Handler must recognize alert and advise location of find.

5.       A false alert, unable to control K-9, or no find will result in a failed test.
